About us

Helping you find a car shipper you can trust

Best Car Shipping Companies is a directory of U.S. auto transport companies, each checked against federal FMCSA records. We help you compare licensed, insured carriers and brokers in your state and city, then contact the one you choose directly — no middleman, no sign-up, no one reselling your phone number.

1,287 verified companies · based in 49 states · FMCSA records re-checked daily

Why this site exists

Shipping a car shouldn't feel like a gamble

Search for “car shipping” and you'll mostly find quote forms. Fill one in and your phone number is often sold to a long list of brokers, who start calling within minutes. Prices that look great turn out to be bait, deposits go to companies that were never licensed, and nobody tells you who will actually be driving your car.

We built this directory to do the opposite. Instead of collecting your details, we give you the facts first: who each company is, whether it is licensed and insured, whether it runs its own trucks or books other carriers, how long it has been in business and what its safety record looks like.

Then the choice is yours. You contact the company directly — by phone, on its website or through a quote request that goes to that company alone.

How it works

Three steps, and you stay in control

No account, no quote form to get past, no calls you didn't ask for.

  1. 1

    Pick your state or city

See the verified companies based there or serving it, with their license, fleet, services and years in business side by side.

  2. 2

    Compare and check

Open a profile for the full FMCSA record. Use our free tools to estimate a fair price and spot red flags before you commit.

  3. 3

    Contact them directly

Call, visit their website or send a quote request. You deal with the company itself — we never stand in between or take a cut of your shipment.

What we stand for

Six things you can count on

  • Checked before listed

No company appears until its USDOT number, operating authority and insurance check out against federal FMCSA records.

  • Re-checked every day

Authority, insurance and safety data change. We re-check every listing daily and pause any company that stops passing.

  • Your details stay yours

A quote request goes only to the one company you picked. We don't sell it or pass it on to other companies or lead buyers.

  • Free for people shipping a car

Searching, comparing and contacting companies costs you nothing, and you never need an account.

  • Open about how we earn

Companies can pay for extra features and higher placement. We say so plainly — and paying never gets anyone past our checks.

  • Facts you can verify

Every profile shows the USDOT and MC numbers behind it, so you can confirm any listing with the FMCSA yourself.

How we make money

You never pay us anything. The site is funded by car shipping companies that choose a paid plan.

Free

Any company that passes our checks gets a verified listing on its state and city pages at no cost. Companies can claim their listing for free to keep their details up to date.

Pro & Premium

Paid plans add a logo, a call button, a website link, a full company story, a profile open to search engines and, on Premium, quote requests. Paid companies are shown higher in lists and Premium cards are highlighted, so you can always tell them apart.

Never for sale

Verification. Every company passes the same FMCSA checks on every plan, and one that stops passing is paused whatever it pays. We also don't sell your contact details or take a commission on your shipment.

To be clear

What we are not

We're an information service. Knowing where our role ends helps you know who to talk to.

  • Not a broker or a carrier. We don't book, dispatch or move cars. Your agreement is always with the company you choose.
  • Not a payment middleman. We never take deposits or payments for a shipment. If anyone asks you to pay “Best Car Shipping Companies” for transport, it isn't us.
  • Not a claims handler. Damage claims go to the carrier and its insurer. Our damage claim assistant explains how, step by step.
  • Not part of the government. We use public FMCSA data, but we're not affiliated with the FMCSA or the U.S. Department of Transportation.
